Yes, I'm still looking for suitable ram expansion for my Yamaha 9000 Pro. I have used the search function on this and other forums, had some suggestions from other forum members, contacted music and computer accessory dealers, etc. It seems that no one has been able to say exactly what to buy short of the MEK64 Memory Kit sold by Yamaha. Now, a quote I just received from a Yamaha product specialist, "You can use any 72-pin 32 MB chips. You will need two of these. This is a generic computer acessory."
Any 72-pin 32 MB chips? Is it really that simple? According to the posts I've read on this forum and the Yahoo Groups it's not that simple. I don't want to seem too skeptical but living where I do I have to order all this sort of merchandise and need to get it right the first time if possible. What do you think? Should I buy "any 72-pin 32 MB chips", pay the extra cost and get the Yamaha set, or keep shopping?
Thanks,
Deaton
